Powderham Farm Shop

We visited in August. The shop itself is well stocked and the snacks offered here are tasty. The garden centre section is the best for quality of plants and variety of stock. However, the restaurant left a lot to be desired. We had booked for Sunday lunch and arrived on time, but had to wait a good 30 mins for food. Service was very slow, and they forgot to bring us our desserts and coffee, so we paid and let.

The farm shop was lovely and included a 'real' butchers. There was also freshly baked bread and rolls for sale. The deli counter sold takeaway food and hot drinks. I ordered a sandwich and cappuccino. The sandwich was well presented and so, so tasty with a good coffee to go. Picnic tables were available to eat outside. I can thoroughly recommend this farm shop. Not only does it sell very good food, but the staff are very cheerful and helpful which makes such a difference. I would definitely visit it again.

Dropped for a bite to eat whilst on a walk around Powderham. I had a very nice steak pasty from the bakery which was heated for me. There are plenty of seats outside to use on a dry day. The shop also has a butcher, Post Office, and a good selection of local beers and ciders. Plenty of parking in the gravelled area and a bus stop right outside.

Came here today with my grandparents, we use to love coming here for the amazing selection of pasties, however they’ve done away with the microwave so you can no longer have anything warmed up. This is an absolute shame as they have a wonderful selection and the farm shop is always a treat to look around. Unfortunately this means the only lunch options are the restaurant (which itself is lovely but rather expensive for a quick lunch) or sandwiches. We tried 3 sandwiches but were thoroughly disappointed. The bread was dry and kept falling apart, the salad was wilted though the fillings themselves were generous. The mocha was ill-made with the coco powder all glooped together at the bottom. The staff are lovely and polite though a bit slow when working. This is all such a shame as we loved coming here but we won’t be rushing back in a hurry.

The area itself is nice but when you realise that their food is made by a local bakery with a poor hygiene rating.... It makes it somewhat disappointing that they charge so much and mask it with their own good food hygiene rating. The pasties can be hit and miss, the cakes are usually disgusting. Nice benches to sit on when it's not busy. Parking ample.

We loved it! A really good shopping experience, there's a shop that sells some wonderful items for the home, ladies clothes, some imaginative toys, cards, rugs and much more. Then there's the fabulous farm shop & garden centre with a little takeaway cafè. We then had a lovely walk in the grounds looking at the herd of deer. A lovely experience & well recommended.
